Celtics Cut Young Forward Ahead of Training Camp

In this story:
The Boston Celtics continue to make team-building decisions late into the offseason.
Celtics team president Brad Stevens has been reshaping his roster significantly, through a series of cost-cutting moves. Stevens has ditched 3-and-D starting center Kristaps Porzingis, All-Defensive Team starting guard Jrue Holiday, and third-string center Luke Kornet. Stevens also waived point guard JD Davison, who had been converted to a standard roster spot after spending the better part of three seasons on a two-way deal.
Porzingis and Holiday were traded, while Kornet walked in free agency for a sweet $41 million gig backing up Victor Wembanyama on the San Antonio Spurs.
Forward Georges Niang, added in the Porzingis deal, was subsequently flipped to the Utah Jazz (along with multiple second-round draft picks) in exchange for two-way rookie RJ Luis.
Now, the Celtics have made an additional, more fringe move, that seems designed to carve out a two-way slot for an as-yet-unsigned big man.
Boston has cut two-way power forward Miles Norris, per a team announcement.
We have waived Miles Norris.

As Noa Dalzell of SB Nation's CelticsBlog notes, Boston will still apparently retain rookie center Amari Williams and Luis.

For now, only Luis and No. 57 draft pick Max Shulga is officially inked to a two-way contract. For whatever reason, Boston continues to figure out its exact plan for Williams, though he seems destined for that third two-way slot rather than a standard roster deal.
The Celtics have waived Miles Norris. They presumably now have two-way spots to sign Amari Williams and RJ Luis.
