LA Clippers Give Injury Update on Key Player

Norman Powell is still going to be out a bit longer.

Norman Powell has not played a basketball game for the LA Clippers since March 2, and it looks like he will be missing a bit more.

Powell has missed the last five games due to a shoulder injury, and Clippers' head coach gave an injury update on the potential sixth man of the year.

"Here's gonna be out for a little bit longer," Lue said about Powell. "He's not practicing today."

Norman Powell has been a huge piece for the LA Clippers this season, averaging 16.6 points on 48/41/80 shooting splits. Despite Powell's success with the team this season, the Clippers will have a bit of trouble incorporating Powell into the recent lineup. The Clippers have had too much talent all season, and are finally playing their best basketball of the season during this four-game winning streak.

"We always have concerns because Norm's a big part of what we've done all year," Lue said. "When a guy's out this long and then you kind of go on a streak and you're playing good basketball, you're always concerned about it. But he sees how we're playing."

Even though there will be some concerns about re-integrating Powell into the Clippers' lineup, Ty Lue doesn't think it'll be hard to bring Powell back into the lineup. The biggest issue for Ty Lue is giving Norman Powell enough time to get his rhythm back, and not put him in a situation similar to last season when he only returned for the play-in.

"We're playing the right way and he's been great for us all year, and so it won't be hard to incorporate him back," Lue said. "Just getting him healthy is the most important thing, and we just want to make sure he gets enough games in so it won't happen like it did last year when he had to come back for those last two play-in games. He had no rhythm ... and so it really was unfair to him. So just hoping we can get him back sooner than later."

For now, the LA Clippers are on a four-game winning streak, and Norman Powell can take his time on a return.
