BREAKING: Ja Morant Suspended vs. Clippers and Lakers

After flashing a gun on Instagram live, Ja Morant has been suspended by the Memphis Grizzlies for at least two games. The decision for Morant to be away from the team for at least two games was announced by the Grizzlies on Saturday morning, and it seems as if further discipline is possible beyond these two games.

The Grizzlies begin a Los Angeles road trip vs. the LA Clippers on Sunday, and then play the Lakers in the same building on Tuesday. It seems as if the Grizzlies made the decision to not have Morant travel with the team to Los Angeles, and they will reevaluate the situation when they return home.

Needless to say, this is very poor judgement by Morant, especially considering the timing. With a story recently dropping that detailed allegations against Morant that included a gun, this was the worst possible time to be showing one on Instagram.

It was also announced by the NBA that the league was investigating the situation as well, but rather than waiting for the NBA to make a decision, the Grizzlies decided to suspend Morant for at least the next two games.

As Shannon Sharpe recently said, Morant just has to move smarter. There are certain situations that NBA players should not be putting themselves in, and with the recent news around Morant, this is certainly something he should have been smarter about.
