The LA Clippers finally acquired James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers late on Monday night, sending back Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, and KJ Martin. This trade had been discussed for months, and the two sides finally came to an agreement on Monday.

It makes sense that the 76ers felt more comfortable moving Harden after the hot start from Tyrese Maxey to begin the season, as this trade allows the 76ers to finally give him the keys to the backcourt after sharing those duties with Harden. Speaking with reporters on Tuesday morning, Maxey shared his message for Harden, as well as details on their relationship.

"I texted [James Harden] telling him I love him and I appreciate him... One thing that he really installed in me is confidence. I've always been a confident person, but he made me be even more confident than I already was... He took me under his wing, taught me a lot of things."

Maxey said the same thing goes for PJ Tucker, who was all included in the trade to LA. While this is wild scenario for everyone involved, Maxey should benefit from having even more responsibility on offense next to Joel Embiid. Once the 76ers realized Harden was not going to work out for them, they made the deal and sent him to the Clippers.
