Jaren Jackson Jr. Reveals Incredible Detail About Guarding Nikola Jokic
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is impossible to stop. Memphis Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr. recently spoke on this during an episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and Entertainment, revealing an incredible detail about Jokic's game.
"He's doing just about everything out there," Jackson Jr. said. "Coming off the screen into a post-up, he's coming off the wedge into a post-up, whipping the passes. And then out of nowhere when you think you finally - it's a three ball."
Jackson Jr. continued, saying, "Just how he used his size. Like any angle. He's creating his own angles, but any angle it's over. He's not trying to like just hook you, he's trying to get in a position to get his own miss right at the rim. So he's just making that move... Right as he's shooting it, he's moving you. And you're not ready to contest it. He knows. He doesn't leave his feet, so he's already on the ground, he's moving you."
Jokic is just as savvy as he is talented, which adds to the difficulty of defending him. Jackson Jr. is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, and clearly has a lot of respect for Jokic and his game. According to the Grizzlies star, it's how Jokic uses his body that makes him even more difficult to defend.
