Joel Embiid's Injury Status vs. Memphis Grizzlies Revealed
The Philadelphia 76ers are facing the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, and superstar center Joel Embiid will miss his 15th-straight game with a left meniscus injury. Speaking with reporters recently, Embiid revealed that the plan is still to return this season, but added that there is no timeline right now.
It was reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski at the end of February that the 76ers are hopeful that Embiid can return towards the end of March, which is of course the month we are now in. While these injuries are difficult to predict timelines for, it seems a return this season is certainly in play for Embiid, and perhaps as soon as the end of this month.
For now, Embiid is ruled out for the 76ers vs. Grizzlies game, and will likely miss several more games before any further information comes out regarding his possible return. The 76ers are currently the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference, and are trying to get back into the playoff picture.
The MVP frontrunner before suffering this injury, Embiid will not be eligible to win the award, but has certainly put together a very solid year when on the court. Looking to return and help his 76ers make a deep playoff run, Embiid is progressing, but is not quite ready to return from his meniscus injury.
