Memphis Grizzlies Waive Multi-Time All-Star

In this story:
It was announced on Thursday afternoon by Shams Charania of The Athletic that the Memphis Grizzlies are waiving two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo. The Grizzlies recently acquired Oladipo from the Houston Rockets as part of the Steven Adams trade, but they are now releasing him to free up a roster spot.

Oladipo is currently injured, and did not project to factor into the Grizzlies' future plans, so this move makes sense for all sides. Rather than having Oladipo occupy that roster spot, the Grizzlies can now use it to take a look at a player who could potentially help them next season. That is what the rest of this year will be about for Memphis, as they look to find the right pieces to put around Ja Morant and the rest of their core.
For Oladipo, this gives him an opportunity to sign with a team of his choosing, if there is one out there that wants to take a chance on him at this stage of his career. Injuries have unfortunately been a major issue for the former All-Star, but he could have something left in the tank to offer an NBA team.
This likely concludes what was a very active trade deadline for the Grizzlies as they look to reshuffle their roster entering next season once Morant returns from injury.
