Report: Concerning Update on Ja Morant's Hand Injury

In this story:
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski gave a concerning injury update on Ja Morant, saying there is "significant doubt" that the Memphis Grizzlies star will play Game 2 vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.
When asked after Game 1 about his hand injury, Morant was understandably upset, saying, "It's tough, man. Especially with everything I've been through pretty much this season. My main focus was to be out there for my guys. It's another incident where that's pretty much in jeopardy."
Morant added, "I'm going to do anything to try to be out there for my team, be out there on the floor. It's pretty much how much [pain] I can tolerate. If I feel like I can go out there and be somewhat myself, I'll probably play. But if not, I don't want to do anything to hurt the team."
If Morant is forced to miss time in this series, it feels very unlikely that Memphis would be able to hold off the Lakers. The Grizzlies have found ways to win without Morant this season, but a playoff series is much different than a stretch of regular season games. That is especially true when facing off against a team like the Lakers, who has two superstar talents in LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Morant is tough, and will do all he can to be out there on the floor, but there is only so much that a player can do when it comes to battling through injuries.
