BREAKING: Ja Morant's Official Status vs. Dallas Mavericks Revealed

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is officially eligible to return from his eight-game gun video suspension against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday; however, the Grizzlies have ruled him out for return to play conditioning. This was the expected outcome that head coach Taylor Jenkins alluded to before Memphis faced Golden State, and it has now been made official by the team.

When asked about Morant's return, Jenkins said on Saturday, "Good chance [Morant is] probably out for the Monday game, because that's gonna be his first day back with the team... It's an ongoing dialogue. We'll see when he gets back in the team environment on Monday, but our anticipation is that he's at least out for Monday, then we'll cross the bridge on Wednesday when we get a little bit closer."

With the star point guard now officially being ruled out against Dallas, the attention will now shift to Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets, which would be Morant's next opportunity to play. While the star guard is not yet ready to make his return, just having him back around the team again should be a positive thing for the Grizzlies.

Having come up big in several of the games that Morant has missed, the Grizzlies will eventually reintegrate their star point guard into a lineup that has a lot of confidence and momentum.
