Injury Report: Mavericks Reveal Luka Doncic's Status vs. Grizzlies

The Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies are set to face off in a marquee Western Conference matchup on Saturday night, but both teams will be without their best player. With Ja Morant already out due to his actions in Colorado, the Mavericks announced that Luka Doncic will also miss this game with a left thigh strain.

With Doncic out, the Mavericks must find a way to generate offense against a Grizzlies team that has been dominant at home. One of the best home teams in basketball, Memphis has defended their home floor nicely this season, even without Ja Morant.

Fresh off a statement win against the Golden State Warriors, Memphis is playing with a level of confidence that the Mavericks must be ready to counter. While both teams will be down their top talent, this is a game that each of them need.

For the Grizzlies, they are currently tied with the Sacramento Kings for the Western Conference's two-seed. Memphis and Sacramento have been going back and forth between second and third for the last several games, and that particular seeding spot is a major difference maker.

As for the Mavericks, they are looking to avoid the play-in tournament. Tied with the Golden State Warriors for the 6th seed, one loss can drop Dallas into the play-in. Needless to say, every game is important for the Mavericks and Grizzlies.
