In a deep-dive piece from ESPN's Tim MacMahon, Desmond Bane's search for the perfect sneaker after his toe injury was detailed. The Memphis Grizzlies guard settled on a pair of LeBron James' signature shoes, which as MacMahon noted, violates an unwritten rule that several players have when it comes to rocking an opponent's signature shoe.

For Bane, the LeBron XX model was exactly what he needed, so he put his pride aside and rocked the sneakers. Speaking with ESPN about it, Bane said, "I got to leave my pride to the side and do what's best for my body and my career."

On a recent friendly exchange he had with LeBron about this, which came roughly one year after the two had a heated exchange on the court, Bane said, "I felt like it was love, for sure. We moved on. I think we separated and settled our differences."

LeBron James also spoke to ESPN about the development, saying, "Respect. Respect. I joked about it a few years ago, like, if a guy's wearing my sneakers I'm going to have to bust your ass and s---. Like, I'm not even in that type of energy no more, that type of space. I just think that's super dope. And I got to send some more to him now."

It was a great piece from MacMahon, that detailed the intricacies of a very interesting story.
