NBA Legend Shares Harsh Message for Ja Morant

In this story:

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is currently serving a 25 games suspension for his second gun video incident that occurred over the summer. NBA legend Charles Barkley has been hard on the Grizzlies star with his public comments, and recently reiterated some of them in an interview with CNN.

"He’s caught with a gun, he gets suspended and then, less than two months later, he gets filmed again on Instagram with a gun and you’re like, ‘Kid can’t be that stupid,’” Barkley told CNN. “[The] kid is getting paid close to $100 million and the only thing you have to do is don’t be a fool. Just play basketball. Ain‘t like it’s a real job. We’re not like teachers. We’re not like firemen. We’re not like policemen. We’re not somebody who’s in the service. We’re not a doctor. Those are five real jobs. Real jobs [with] people who will never make a lot of money and all you have to do is dribble a stupid basketball and stay out of trouble."

While Barkley was hard on Morant here, as he has been throughout this entire situation, the NBA legend wants to see the Grizzlies star fulfill his potential and stay out of trouble. Even the harsher critics like Barkley want what's best for Morant, which would be staying out of trouble and having a the legendary career he is capable of having.
