Shocking Suitor for Dillon Brooks Revealed

In this story:
With Dillon Brooks widely expected to leave the Memphis Grizzlies this summer, rumors are already circulating about which teams could be potential suitors for the All-Defensive forward. According to Marc Stein, via a recent Substack post, the Detroit Pistons have been mentioned more than once as a team to watch for Brooks.
"It's obviously early in the offseason for the 22 teams that have already been eliminated — Memphis' season hasn’t even been over for a week yet — but Detroit has been mentioned to me more than once as a team to watch in terms of potential suitors for unrestricted free agent-to-be Dillon Brooks," Stein wrote. "On Monday, I reported here that there was "a growing doubt league-wide about the Grizzlies’ appetite to re-sign Brooks as he heads to free agency." On Tuesday morning, via this report from The Athletic, it emerged that the Grizzlies have indeed firmly decided to move on."
It is somewhat shocking to hear Detroit as one of the teams potentially interested, because Brooks does not seem like the type of player the Pistons would look to use cap space on. While Detroit does project to take a step forward next season, and potentially compete for a playoff spot, their available cap space would likely be better spent elsewhere - especially considering the large amount that Brooks is reportedly seeking in free agency.
