Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is currently in court for a civil case stemming from his incident last summer over a pickup basketball game. The incident involved Morant's friend Davonte Pack, and then teenage basketball player Joshua Holloway.

The incident has been well covered by now, with details of what happened being made public months ago. Morant has admitted to hitting Holloway, but the Grizzlies star is arguing that it was in self defense, which is an argument his lawyers were granted the ability to use in civil court.

Because the incident occurred over a pickup basketball game, and after Holloway allegedly threw a basketball in Morant's face, the Grizzlies star had to display what checking a basketball in a pickup game is supposed to look like:

This was a bizarre moment, but one Morant had to take part in as he displayed what checking the basketball is supposed to look like in a pickup game. As previously mentioned, Morant and his lawyers are arguing the Grizzlies star struck Holloway in self defense, which was partially in response to Holloway striking Morant with a basketball.

With no criminal charges remaining (Morant never had any brought against him in the first place), this is just a civil case now with lawsuits remaining on all sides. For Morant, he is maintaining his actions were in self defense.
