WATCH: Grizzlies Star Trash Talks Dillon Brooks

In this story:
Dillon Brooks is facing the Memphis Grizzlies for the first time in his career on Wednesday night. Joining the Houston Rockets after spending his entire career in Memphis, Brooks has been ready for this game, and even had some comments for his old organization prior to the matchup.
While Brooks still has positive relationships with his former teammates, it was always likely that the friendliness would get put on pause for 48 minutes on Wednesday night, and that already looks to be the case. Early in this matchup, Grizzlies star Desmond Bane scored on Brooks, and let him know about it:

As previously mentioned, Brooks has maintained positive relationships with many of his former teammates since leaving for Houston, but both he and Bane are great competitors, which can produce moments like this. It would make sense for both Brooks and his old teammates to have this game circled on the calendar, and especially with some of Brooks' comments going viral prior to this game.
After looking beyond all of the theatrics this game was likely to bring, a very important Western Conference matchup remains. While the Grizzlies have struggled to start the year, they hope to reenter the playoff picture before the year ends, and they could be battling with a team like Houston for one of those spots in the Western Conference.
