Are Other Teams Backing Off Damian Lillard Trade Talks?

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski says teams are losing interest in Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard

The Miami Heat are now simply playing the waiting game with the Portland Trail Blazers

The question is this: Is it worth it?

A month has passed since Blazers guard Damian Lillard first requested a trade to the Heat. No progress has been made, according to multiple reports. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski said Portland is waiting for the Heat or any other team to provide an ideal trade package.

The Heat's best assets are guard Tyler Herro, forward Duncan Robinson and multiple draft picks.

"Certainly, Miami remains the team most motivated, that has enough assets to eventually perhaps outbid the market," Wojnarowski said on Monday's edition of NBA Today. "The problem is Portland looks at what Miami has, doesn't love it, and keeps hoping something better is going to come along.

The Blazers are waiting on a bigger offer from the Heat while seeing if any other team is willing to part with more. Wojnarowski said the problem is some teams are growing less interested in acquiring Lillard.

"Miami's not going to bid against itself and keep upping it's offer when it doesn't think Portland necessarily has anything comparable," Wojnarowski said. "That's why it's dragging out and why it may continue to drag out. ... Right now, there's just not been a lot of engagement among teams on a Lillard trade."
