Dwyane Wade Still Among NBA's Greatest Scorers After Passed By DeMar DeRozan

Dwyane Wade's scoring took a hit when he decided to team with LeBron James during the peak of his career

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade was among the NBA greats who were passed over by Chicago Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan on the career list Wednesday.

DeRozan moved into 37th place after scoring 46 points in a victory against the Indiana Pacers. He moved ahead of Adrian Dantley, Wade and Elgin Baylor, all Hall of Famers.

Wade remains at No. 39 on the list after finishing his career with 23,165 points. He will likely fall further in a few years when Damian Lillard cracks the Top 40.

Despite falling on the list, it's hard to discredit Wade as a scorer. He is still the Heat's all-time leader. His numbers also would have been higher had he not been slowed by knee injuries or teamed with LeBron James in his prime.

Wade took a backseat to James from 2010-2014. His scoring certainly would have increased drastically if not for the arrival of the James. Instead, Wade put statistics aside to help the Heat win two titles, furthering his legacy.

More points are a bonus but it's doubtful Wade would trade the championships for an individual accolade. DeRozan, meanwhile, has solidified his case as a Hall of Famer. At 34, he still has a few good years left and has an outside shot of making the Top 20.
