Former Miami Heat Center Dewayne Dedmon Expected To Sign With 76ers

Dedmon lands on the roster of another Eastern Conference contender

Center Dewayne Dedmon appears to have landing in a good spot after being traded by the Miami Heat last week.

Dedmon is reportedly on the verge of signing with the Philadelphia 76ers according to ESPN. The Heat traded Dedmon to the San Antonio Spurs, who waived him shortly after.

Dedmon is now with the Sixers, who are in the thick of the Eastern Conference race behind MVP candidate Joel Embiid. At 36-19, the Sixers are No. 3 in the conference standings behind the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. Last year the Heat eliminated Philadelphia in the second round of the postseason.

The Heat moved Dedmon in an attempt to free salary cap space before the trade deadline, but they were still unable to make any acquisitions. Dedmon fell out of the rotation after playing sparingly during his tenure in Miami.
