Miami Heat’s Victor Oladipo Released His New Afrobeats Album “TUNDE”

Oladipo had his third studio album.

Miami Heat shooting guard Victor Oladipo made his mark in the NBA as a two-time All-Star with his playmaking ability on both ends of the court.

But aside from basketball, he has a musical career as well. Oladipo released his newest project, a seven-track Afrobeats album called “TUNDE.”

It will be his third album, after Songs for You (2017) and V.O. (2018). He had several tracks gain prominence, such as his 2017 song “Unfollow” with R&B artist Eric Bellinger. Oladipo said he wanted to trace his newest album to his Nigerian roots.

“I decided to do an afrobeats album to give back to my culture, which has made me who I am and given me the strength to get through many storms. I felt like doing an Afro album would show my love and appreciation for my culture and my people. The love and appreciation they show and have shown me, I want them to receive that through this album.”

Oladipo collaborated with the producers for prominent artists such as Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, and Chris Brown.

Oladipo is arguably the Heat’s top contributor off the bench this season, averaging 11.2 points, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals. While still not at the superstar form he once was, he gives Miami depth at the guard positions behind a struggling Kyle Lowry and younger players like Gabe Vincent and Max Strus.

While many Heat fans will be waiting for Oladipo to return from injury, they can check out his newest album on Apple Music or Pandora.
