More Touches For Bam Adebayo Now A Talking Point For Miami Heat
There were several factors that led to the Miami Heat's bad loss Tuesday to the Atlanta Hawks
They shot poorly from the 3-point line. They were outrebounded badly. They struggled defensively against the Hawks backcourt of Trae Young and Djounte Murray.
But one talking that arose during the postgame was the play of Heat center Bam Adebayo, especially on the offensive end. Adebayo is an important cog offensively because he's asked to do so much, whether it's scoring or facilitating.
On Tuesday, Adebayo finished with 12 points on 5 of 12 shooting, nine rebounds and four assists. Most of the production came after the Hawks had built a big, first-half lead.
Here's what the Heat said about getting Adebayo more involved:
Bam Adebayo: "We've just got to figure out a way to get me the ball. other than that, some of the guys had it going. We have to figure out how we can keep them going and also get me involved."
Jimmy Butler: "Probably swing the ball around, get it to our shooters. Make them close out and have them play our close outs and then find when he's down there ... I think that's the best way to get him the ball."
Here's hoping the Heat get it corrected in time for Friday's game that will decide if they make the first round of the playoffs or not.
