NBA Twitter is always bound to have debates and disagreements.

But occasionally, fans will generally agree on particular subjects. The latest fan consensus was that Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo was in the same tier as Anthony Davis amongst the league’s big men.

The Athletic’s Seth Partnow composed a list of the best centers in the league last season. Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid ranked at the top, with Davis in tier 2 and Adebayo in tier 3 with Minnesota Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert.

Gobert is seemingly always the middle of aimless Twitter ridicule but this time it may be justified.

After all, Adebayo was the Heat’s best player in the Finals and No. 2 option throughout the postseason. Even for breakout performances by Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin, Adebayo was still considered as the team’s best player behind Jimmy Butler. Meanwhile, Gobert has failed to justify the large trade Minnesota made for him last offseason.

“Bam averaged 22,12, and 3 in the finals and you’re still gonna put Gobert in the same tier as him,” one user said.

He was the Heat’s lone All-Star, averaging a career-high 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals. His 30-point performances and defensive presence made him the two-way player Miami needed.

Adebayo is accustomed to disrespect, so maybe he can use it as fuel for next season. But at least most fans recognize his place in the league.
