Damian Lillard’s Agent Gives Thanks To Miami Heat’s Organization

The Miami Heat came up short in acquiring Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, who was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Miami Heat came up short in acquiring Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, who was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Lillard and his agent, Aaron Goodwin, made it clear to the league that Miami was his preferred destination. Following the three-team trade, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reported that Goodwin thanked the Heat’s organization for their negotiations.

“They did everything they could to acquire Dame. It takes two to get a deal done,” Goodwin said. “I appreciate all that Pat, Andy, and Micky did to try and make this happen."

From Miami’s perspective, disappointment is likely the feeling at hand. But for the fan base and front office, Goodwin’s assurance of Miami’s efforts should lift spirits.

Goodwin took an aggressive approach to Lillard’s request, going to the extent of calling organizations. The result for Lillard may not have been his number-one option, but he expressed excitement via his latest social media post.

Despite Lillard’s consistent desire to only play for the Heat, it is clear he could not pass on the opportunity to play alongside two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
