Did the Drake Curse Affect the Miami Heat Last Night?

Miami Heat fans have blamed many throughout the season for their losses. Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo, and Erik Spoelstra have been some of the common names involved in their criticism. Now, they are blaming prominent rapper and entrepreneur Drake. Drake bet the Heat and Los Angeles Lakers would repeat their Game 1 performances and take victories to go up 2-0 in their respective series.

The “Drake Curse” is an online theory that a team or player loses after associating with the rapper.

Of course, Drake can’t be blamed for Miami’s lackluster shooting and defensive performance. The Heat allowed 138 points on 53.5 percent shooting from the field. Mind you, this was without MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Heat will need to recoup the effort that made them the No. 2 scoring defense in the league. Miami also needs to find some scoring production with Tyler Herro being out the rest of the series.

The Heat return to action against the Bucks in Miami for Game 3 on Saturday night.
