Dillon Brooks Shows His Respect For Miami Heat's Udonis Haslem As A Leader

In this story:
Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks recently showed why the Miami Heat's Udonis Haslem is so well-respected around the NBA.
Several in the media have questioned if the Grizzlies need a veteran player to mentor youngsters like Ja Morant, who is serving a four-game suspension for off-the-court incidents. When asked about it, Brooks put Haslem in a different category than other older players because of his willingness to lead from the bench.

"Who do you want to sign," Brooks said. "You wanna sign Carmelo Anthony? You wanna sign Dwight Howard? Who do you want to sign? Those guys are trying get back into the league. They're not trying to hone in on a guy and be a vet. A real vet is like Udonis Haslem."
Haslem takes a lot of criticism for fans who say he is wasting a roster spots but comments like these should prove his value in the locker room. There is a reason the Heat are dedication four days to him later this month for playing 20 seasons in Miami.
His worth is far more than what appears in the box score.
