The conversation of the greatest basketball player is probably one that will never end because everyone’s preferences are different.

They range from LeBron James to Michael Jordan …or even Paul George.

But according to Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade, that’s perfectly fine. Players and fans from different eras are going to have different perspectives because of their exposure to the sport and personal beliefs of what makes someone the greatest.

Many criticized Brandon Miller for saying George was his G.O.A.T. But in an interview with USA Today, Wade respected Miller’s perspective, talking about how opinions differ in younger players.

“I think he said it right from the standpoint of having our personal G.O.A.Ts, because these are the people that we watched,” Wade said. “These are the people who, it doesn’t matter how good someone else is, this is our guy. A lot of it is a style of play or whatever the case may be.”

One day, Wade may have his name at the top of someone’s list as well. He collected three championships and 13 All-Star selections in his career, earning him a Hall of Fame induction next month.
