Is Offensive Aggression The Key For Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo To Finally Earn His Due

In this story:
Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo is arguably their best defender, facilitator and most versatile player.
The lone area that needs improvement is offense, particularly aggression. There are times he defers too much to forward Jimmy Butler. It happened at times during last postseason, which was one of the reasons Butler shouldered so much of the offensive load early last postseason before fading in the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets.
Adebayo did what he could by averaging 21.8 points and 12.4 rebounds, both team-highs, but it never felt like he was a dominant offensive presence. Which brings us to Bleacher Report's list of the top big men entering this season.
Adebayo checked in at No. 7 behind Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns. Adebayo is similar to both at rebounding and on the defensive end but being a consistent scorer is where he lags.
"The Heat could need more firepower with Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry advancing deeper into their 30s, and having Adebayo seek out more scoring chances for himself might scratch that itch," Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley wrote.
The Heat could use more consistency from Adebayo this season but, of course, this becomes a non-issue if they acquire Damian Lillard. Adebayo can play as passive offensively as he wants.
