Is Pascal Siakam A Worthy Second Choice For Miami Heat If Damian Lillard Talks Fail?

In this story:
This is the summer of Damian Lillard for the Miami Heat.
Lillard to the Heat has dominated the headlines since the end of the NBA Finals more than a month ago. With the talks almost hitting a standstill, it's time for a dose of reality: the deal may not even happen.
With that said, the Heat have options. They can either run it back with the same lineup that includes the return of guard Tyler Herro, who missed nearly all of last postseason because of injury. Or they can go after All-Star Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors.
While the move isn't splashy as Lillard, Siakam would make the Heat significantly better. The trio of Siakam, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler gives them three capable scorers. Siakam averaged at least 20 points four straight seasons, including a career-high 24.2 last year.
The move works because Siakam is in the final year of his contract, meaning the Raptors may want to get something in return now instead losing him in free agency next summer for nothing. The Raptors have also reportedly shown interest in Herro, who is the Heat's best trade bargaining chip.
No, the move wouldn't create the same buzz as acquiring Lillard. Still, it's something the Heat could explore.
