So much has changed for Philadelphia 76ers guard Mac McClung the past two weeks.

After winning the slam dunk contest during NBA All-Star Weekend, McClung has morphed into a celebrity. No longer can he hide in obscurity.

“Since I won the dunk contest, things have definitely changed,” he said during a recent interview with CNN. “It’s been a blur, I feel like I’ve been running around everywhere but it’s really been a blessing and I’m just trying to have fun with it.”

McClung was an unknown developmental player before showcasing his jumping skills in front of a national audience last weekend in Utah. He will not play tonight against the Miami Heat because he is on G League assignment but he is now one of two undrafted players to win the event. He joined former Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr., who won it in 2020.

“I don’t think it’s set in, the players I’m going to be associated with for the contest,” McClung said. “I think one day when I get older it’ll be something I brag about to my kids but right now I can’t even really digest it.”
