Guard Terrence Ross has reportedly decided to sign with the Phoenix Suns after agreeing to a buyout from the Orlando Magic

According to ESPN, Ross joined the Suns because he wanted to play for a contender. The Suns recently acquired Kevin Durant, pairing him with Chris Paul and All-Star Devin Booker.

Ross spent the past seven seasons with the Magic. This year, he is averaging eight points in 22.5 minutes off the bench. A career 11.4 points a game scorer, Ross had his best season 2020-21 when he averaged 15.4 points in Orlando.

Ross could have helped the Heat with scoring in the backourt and is also a decent defender. At 32, he can still contribute on a team that already has solid cornerstones in place.

The Heat, who were unable to make any moves at the trade deadline, could also be in the mix for Russell Westbrook.
