The Miami Heat organization sent their best wishes to former Heat player LeBron James after his son, Bronny, was hospitalized Monday.

The younger James, an incoming freshman basketball player at USC, was taken to the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest during a workout on campus. The James family released a statement saying Bronny was no longer in the intensive care unit.

“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest," the statement said. "Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information. LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”

The news hit close to home for the Heat organization. James played in Miami from 2010-14, leading the team to two championships. Bronny was a fixture in the Heat locker room during those days.

"Get well soon, Bronny!," the Heat said on their official Twitter account. "Our prayers and best wishes go out to the James family."
