Miami Heat Twitter Congratulates Coco Gauff Winning the U.S. Open

In this story:
South Florida native Coco Gauff won the Women's Singles U.S. Open after defeating Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka in three sets.
A Delray Beach resident and Jimmy Butler superfan, Gauff was congratulated by the Miami Heat social media page. She is the latest figure to continue the positive trend in South Florida sports.
Gauff's connection to the Heat stemmed back to when Miami nearly blew a 3-0 lead against the Boston Celtics. She said Butler's calm mentality amidst these losses encouraged her to have the same self-confidence.

After her title victory, Gauff had some words for those who doubted her.
“Thank you to the people who didn’t believe in me,” Gauff said. “I mean a month ago, I won a 500 title and people said I would stop at that. Two weeks ago, I won a 1000 title and people were saying that was the biggest I was going to get. Three weeks later, I’m here with this trophy right now. I tried my best to carry this with grace and I’ve been doing my best. So honestly, to those who thought you were putting water on my fire, you’re really adding gas to it. And now I’m really burning so bright right now.”

Maybe her win can encourage the Heat to claim their own title.
