Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez finally has some down time after long summer.

Jaquez is slated to throw out the first pitch at Friday's Miami Marlins game at Marlins Park. They play the Colorado Rockies at 6:40 p.m. The Marlins (53-45) are third in the National League East.

For Jaquez, it serves as a break from a busy few months. He was drafted with the No. 18 pick in June. From there, he began workouts before NBA summer leagues in Sacramento and Las Vegas.

He has some down time before things get serious again in September for training camp. Jaquez drew solid reviews in his limited showing.

He played in two summer league games before being sidelined with a shoulder injury. He scored 22 points in hi debut on 53 percent shooting. After his second game, the Heat shut him down.

Last year's Heat rookie, Nikola Jovic, also threw out the first pitch at a Marlins game.
