NBA Top Performances, April 8: Anthony Edwards’ 33 Points Positioned Minnesota Timberwolves to Clinch No. 8 Seed

TOP PLAYERS OF THE DAY:
The Minnesota Timberwolves clinched their spot in the play-in tournament but can still improve their seeding thanks to another superstar performance by Anthony Edwards. Edwards’ 33 points led Minnesota in a blowout win over the San Antonio Spurs. It was Edwards’ 24th 30-point game of the season, tying him with Trae Young for ninth in the league in that category. The Timberwolves play the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday afternoon to determine the No. 8 seed.
OTHERS:
- Utah Jazz guard Ochai Agbaji had a career-high 28 points to defeat the Denver Nuggets. The Jazz ended a four-game losing streak while handing Denver the fifth loss in their last six games.
- Kawhi Leonard increased the Los Angeles Clippers’ chances of avoiding the play-in tournament with a 27-point performance against the Portland Trail Blazers. The No. 5 Clippers are one game ahead of the No. 7 Los Angeles Lakers.
