Michael Malone and the Denver Nuggets were the epitome of seriousness and fundamental team basketball.

So it surprised many to see the Nuggets coach so vibrant and energetic at the team’s celebration after defeating the Miami Heat.

Malone even took some more shots at sports media figures, whom he believes disrespected the team all season. First, he clowned the Nikola Jokic “stat padding” comments made by ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins.

“You guys know he stat pads right?” Malone said. “He didn't win a 3rd in a row MVP because the voters didn't want to vote for him. This guy right here is an amazing player.”

Then, he further trolled the Los Angeles Lakers, who he believed were getting more recognition than the Nuggets despite losing.

Hopefully, the Heat and coach Erik Spoelstra can have these same celebratory feelings next year. The trade rumors for Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard are already swarming in, signaling the organization is taking a more head-on approach to improving the roster this offseason.
