There are many mixed reactions around the NBA world regarding Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard requesting a trade to the Miami Heat.

Some have said Lillard is being selfish while others fully support his desire. Former NBA star Tracy McGrady is siding with the latter because he feels Lillard has earned the right to want a better situation.

McGrady spoke on the issue during an appearance on Fox Sports 1's "The Herd."

"He’s done everything he possibly can to win in Portland," McGrady said. "He’s given them everything. He wants to be a really huge part of why he wins the championship. He sees that in Miami. I have no issues with that."

Lillard made his intentions clear shortly after the Heat were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals. McGrady, who is in the Hall of Fame should know all about trades. He played for six teams during his career. He was part of a blockbuster trade that involved him going from the Orlando to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Steve Francis in 2004.
