In this story:

Former Lone Peak High School stand-out Frank Jackson has been rewarded with another 10-day contract from the Utah Jazz. The move came alongside Utah signing point guard Kris Dunn.

Jackson was originally drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 2017. He did not play during the 2017 season due to a foot injury.

Jackson eventually made his way to the New Orleans Pelicans, where he played from 2018 through 2020. His next stop landed him in the Motor City, where he played for the Detroit Pistons from 2020-2022. Before signing his 10-day contract, he played for the Salt Lake City Stars, the Jazz's G-League affiliate, and participated in the G-League showcase game during the NBA All-Star weekend.

Jackson's signing is unsurprising, especially after the roster shake-up before the NBA trade deadline. The Jazz parted ways with point guards Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker and were not able to retain the services of Russell Westbrook.

Jackson does possess five years of NBA experience and should be able to acclimate to the Jazz system as he is a homegrown prospect. I'm generally leery of players who have been traded multiple times and particularly before the age of 25, for obvious reasons.

We will have to evaluate this 10-day signing, but for Jackson, maybe his third NBA team will be a charm.
