After suffering a UCL sprain during the first game of the NBA season, Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler has remained out of action for the past seven games. However, a return to the floor may be here as soon as Saturday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

According to the Jazz’s most recent injury report, Kessler is listed as probable for Saturday’s game, marking what could potentially be his first time back in action since November 6th.

Through his first eight games of the season, he’s averaged 8.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks a night. Now, with the chance to get re-established into the lineup, we might finally see Kessler get comfortable and take the second-year jump fans expect from him.

While his likely first game back will be without Jordan Clarkson (illness) and All-Star Lauri Markkanen (hamstring), being relieved of taking on a force like Zion Williamson should be a breath of fresh air. He’s fresh off a 32-point season-high performance against the Los Angeles Clippers, so Kessler is dodging a big bullet here.

Kessler and the rest of the Jazz will take on the Pelicans to avoid five-straight losses in the Smoothie King Center at 7:30 PM MT.
