Jazz’s Walker Kessler Pledges Allegiance to Team USA This Summer

In this story:
The Utah Jazz’s own Walker Kessler will get the chance to play on a world-class stage this summer, joining this year’s Team USA in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. An excellent opportunity for the young center, allowing him to train and play with some of the NBA and world’s elites on the court, also competing for a World Cup win in the process.
Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler has committed to play for Team USA's FIBA World Cup team this summer in the Philippines, sources tell ESPN. Kessler had an All-Rookie season, averaging 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks

Along with Kessler, some All-Star level talents will be playing in the tourney for the U.S., such as Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, and Brandon Ingram. In just one short season in the league, Kessler is already making his mark as one of the best players in the world.
Kessler will take the floor later in August down in the Philippines to lead the U.S. back on track in FIBA play. With Spain taking home the title in 2021, it’s a big year for the United States, looking to re-establish dominance on the international stage.
This time looks to be a bit different with The Sheriff in town. Kessler, combined with potentially Philippines Jordan Clarkson, Finland’s Lauri Markkanen, and Canada’s Kelly Olynyk, will be one of many pieces to what should be plenty of Utah representation this summer on the FIBA stage.
