Jazz Select Brice Sensabaugh With 3rd First Round Pick in NBA Draft

In this story:
With the 28th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz have selected F Brice Sensabaugh from Ohio State. After the selection of Taylor Hendricks at 9th overall, as well as Keyonte George at 16th, the Jazz have filled out their young core extremely well with the draft assets they entered the night with.
Sensabaugh is one of the best pure scorers and shooters in the entire class. During his freshman campaign at Ohio State, he averaged totals of 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting an impressive 48.2% from the field. This gives Utah at the very least an immediately impactful spark plug off the bench as an effective three-level scorer.
One thing to now watch is how the team approaches Jordan Clarkson’s impending free agency. Selecting high-level scorers like George and Sensabaugh during tonight’s draft could signal their unwillingness to bring back Clarkson at his desired contract. Now though, the team could afford such a loss with ample replacements to slot into his role.
The 2023 NBA Draft’s first round has now come to a close. While it’s unlikely we see the Jazz make a move back into the draft in the second, we’ll stay posted for any potential moves Utah may make as the night moves on.
