With their second pick of the night, the Utah Jazz have selected G Keyonte George from Baylor. The Jazz had been linked to George consistently through the pre-draft process, and now those rumors finally come to fruition. George is a 6’4”, 185lb freshman coming off a season averaging 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

While his inefficiency has been among one of the few glaring holes in an otherwise well-rounded skillset (shooting 37.6% from the field), he still has all the tools to iron those issues out as a pro. Combined with the Hendricks pick earlier in the draft, Utah has now addressed both their frontcourt and backcourt depth pretty well.

With the impending free agency looming for Jordan Clarkson and Talen Horton-Tucker, this gives Utah some much needed security and depth for the position moving forward. Even without resigning one, or even both of these guys in July, the Jazz still have a pretty complete guard rotation for the future.

Now with one more pick remaining in the draft at 28th overall, Jazz fans await to see if Utah will make the selection, or opt to trade it.
