In this story:

When LeBron James was first being proclaimed the 'Chosen One' straight out of high school and selected number one by the Cleveland Cavaliers, everybody could not help themselves and had to place him next to Michael Jordan off the bat.

And you couldn't really blame them... the generational athleticism, incredible backstory and potential to become the face of the NBA, everything was there for to compare the two.

However, once James got acquainted in the NBA and he started running the fast break and not only getting to the rim at will but also finding his teammates in some of the flashiest ways possible, many analysts began reminiscing of a certain 6'9 point guard that helped win the Los Angeles Lakers five championships.

Obviously, there are still some huge differences in the way Magic Johnson and The King play the game but as far as being able to operate an offense at their size... it wasn't very common at the times both of them came into the league.

A big debate in the NBA right now revolves around who is the best point guard of all time? Two answers usually sit at the top and they include Johnson along with Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. ESPN's own Stephen A. Smith recently shared that he received word from Michael Jordan that he still believes Magic takes the cake.

But former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas brought up an interesting point and he took a deep dive into why he thinks that anybody that makes an argument for Magic to be the best at the 1 spot should view James in the same light as well.

"If you're gonna use Magic as the best point, I'm gonna use Bron," said Arenas. "Now LeBron's the best point guard ever. He led his team in f*****g assists every season. He has to be the best point guard of all time. LeBron was 2.0 of Magic, coming into the NBA he was Magic Johnson with Jordan-like jumping ability. That was the frame so you can't now take him out of it because he's done surpassed all of these stats."

These types of sports debates are timeless and even though new arguments will always be posed like the one Arenas shared here, we would not love the game as much without them!
