Lakers News: The Ringer Proposes 2 Wild LeBron-To-Warriors Trades

In this story:
With the way that your 27-25 Los Angeles Lakers' 2023-24 NBA season has gone, the team has been expected to be active at the trade deadline. They have been wildly inconsistent all year long, and it has caused a lot of frustration around the organization.
One key player who has been vocal about their frustration has been superstar LeBron James. From his hourglass emoji to his refusal to confirm what his plans for next season are, James has been in the news a lot lately for off-the-court reasons.
He does own a player option within his contract for the next season. James hasn't given any indication of what he will do, leading some to believe that he could leave Los Angeles.
During a recent episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Ringer's Bill Simmons and Howard Beck proposed a few different trades involving James, including his landing with the Golden State Warriors. Howard Beck proposed this deal to have James land in the Bay Area.
"LeBron to the Warriors. Wiggins, Kuminga, Moody, Gary Payton II and whatever picks you could put in there," Beck said.
On paper, this deal would help the Lakers regain some needed draft and trade assets. If James does want to leave the Lakers, this could be a win-win for both sides.
Golden State gets to add James to pair alongside Steph Curry. The Lakers would get a few young pieces in Kuminga and Moody, plus draft assets.
Bill Simmons gave his version of a trade for James.
My version of that trade was Klay's expiring," Simmons said. "There is no way you can trade Klay, but if you did trade him, trade him to the team his dad played on, Looney's in there as a big guy and then Kuminga, who I think is a legitimate piece."
Between both trades, the one that Beck proposed is the better deal. Getting both Kuminga and Moody, with Wiggins being thrown into it would be massive.
Obviously, the Lakers don't want to trade James. But if they ever were forced to do so, this could be a move that benefits everyone involved.
