Lakers Injury Report: Multiple Stars Could Miss LA-Utah Matchup

In this story:
Your 19-20 Los Angeles Lakers are heading out on the road today to take on the 20-20 Utah Jazz. LA has dropped down in the standings of late, so they desperately need a win here. However, they may need to do it without the services of multiple players
Lakers insider Jovan Buha of The Athletic is reporting that Los Angeles could be without multiple players against the Jazz. They will be getting forward Rui Hachimura back, but LeBron James, Cam Reddish and D'Angelo Russell are all questionable.
Lakers’ injury report vs. Utah:
— Jovan Buha (@jovanbuha) January 13, 2024
— Rui Hachimura is available.
— Anthony Davis and Christian Wood are probable.
— LeBron James (left ankle), Cam Reddish (left knee soreness) and D’Angelo Russell (right knee contusion) are questionable.
— Gabe Vincent is out.
While this game against Utah doesn't seem like a major deal, the Lakers have been reeling of late. They are coming off a blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, and this game provides them with a winnable matchup.
Every night in the NBA is a tough game, but there are some that are more favorable than others. Utah is a good team, but the Lakers should be able to beat them if they are actually the team many believe that they are.
The Jazz are also right ahead of the Lakers in the standings, so getting a win over them would be massive. The team would jump right back into the bottom part of the play-in tournament bracket, and they could feel a little better about themselves.
If James can't go, star Anthony Davis will be relied upon even more. He has been great this season but will need to put on another solid performance to bring this team to a win.
The Lakers can't afford any more slip-ups throughout the season if they want to make the playoffs. They've heavily stumbled over the last month, and it has put them into a bad hole standings-wise.
This team was supposed to be one of the better in the Western Conference, but they've proven that they need some upgrades at the trade deadline. But grabbing a win on a night like tonight could go a long way in helping them actually reach the playoffs.
