Lakers News: Jalen Hurts Reacts To Meeting LeBron James At 76ers Game

One bright spot of your Los Angeles Lakers' disastrous 44-point loss at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night was dialogue between Pro Bowl Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and All-Star Lakers forward LeBron James.

The two met up during the game, leading Hurts to say this in a later press conference:

“Just thought it’d be cool to go see him, and obviously I had the opportunity to meet him,” Hurts said. “I wanted him to shake my dad’s hand, too. That’s a guy that my dad has watched, being an older guy, watched him grow into the monumental figure he is now. ... It’s just all love and respect for him.”

Jalen's comments are more than a sign of respect to James – instead, they're almost a sign of gratitude, pointing out what LeBron has done for the basketball community both on and off the court, and calling him "transcendent."

In response, LeBron reposted the video, sharing this message back to Hurts:

“And it’s all love and respect right back to you Young [King]!!!”

Coming off of a 37-34 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills in which Hurts was responsible for 5 total touchdowns – including the game-winning one, the NFL MVP frontrunner takes on a force in the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon.

It's great to see two of the best at their crafts showing mutual respect, as Hurts is slowly beginning to follow LeBron's lead as the face of his sport.
