Lakers News: Writer Not A Fan of LA's Free Agent Flyer On Ex-Lottery Pick

In this story:
At long last, Cam Reddish is finally a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. The team had been linked to the former Duke Blue Devil for some time now and he finally was able to land in Los Angeles. Reddish signed a two-year deal with the Lakers to try and boost his value around the league and it is the perfect match for both sides. It’s a flier type of move for the Lakers as Reddish is still only 23-years-old despite it feeling like he has been in the league forever.
Cam Reddish becoming a free agent? Welcome to LA lol

He was remarked as a very solid prospect when he came out of college, but Reddish hasn’t been able to live up to the hype. His best season as a pro came back in 2021-2022 with the Atlanta Hawks when he averaged 11.9 points per game and shot 37.9 percent from beyond the three-point line. If he can match or exceed that this season, it will be seen as a win for LA.
Reddish just hasn’t been able to fully translate his game over to the level of the NBA. He turns the ball over at a high rate and is a below average shooter from deep despite his shooting being one of his calling cards when he entered the league. But if any team can maximize the talent of Reddish, it could be the Lakers with LeBron James.
The NBA Staff at Bleacher Report graded this signing and gave it a "C" letter grade. They weren't overly impressed but do believe it could end up working out.
"But on a team with LeBron James, when his offense could be generated entirely for him by LeBron James and others, maybe he'll finally live up to his pre-college hype."
Per Bleacher Report
The potential that Reddish has is still there and the Lakers are hoping that they will be the team to unlock something. If they can, Reddish could end up being a major part of their plans going forward.
