Magic Starting 5: Orlando Positioned for Big Draft Risk

In this story:
"We've had those discussions like, does this allow us to take a swing? What does that mean? You can like create like endless levers if this, then that, literally dozens of them," Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said.
"We want to move the team forward ... we want to play better basketball ... we want to make better decisions," Weltman said. "We want to have our awareness and our maturity level, really start to elevate itself and become more of a veteran team. That said, not at the expense of doing what we're doing, which is growing a team organically with young, talented high character players and trying to maintain as much flexibility through the process as possible."
3. REDICK LIKES ORLANDO'S PLAYOFF CHANCES
"Orlando, in particular, has a chance to be in the playoffs next year," Redick said on his podcast. "I don't know what their expectations will be, but after a 5-20 start they were essentially a .500 team... That's a team I could see make a little jump next season."
4. ZION TRADE COMING?
According to Bill Simmons, New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson has been a strong name in trade rumors and could be dealt ahead of Thursday's NBA Draft.
“The Zion thing is a real, real, real, subplot," Simmons said on his podcast. "I had somebody tell me yesterday—that I trust—that he will not be on [the Pelicans] by Thursday.”
Williamson was selected with the No. 1 overall pick just four years ago, but the Pelicans have yet to be impressed with him given his potential coming into the NBA.
