Magic Starting 5: Orlando Better Than Brooklyn Nets Next Season?

1. MAGIC BETTER THAN NETS?

"Before trading Durant on Feb. 8, the Nets were 32-22, but the current iteration of the team led by Mikal Bridges went 13-15, just a smidge better percentage-wise than the Magic was this past season."

2. KAWHI LEONARD'S SISTER GUILTY OF MURDER

Kawhi Leonard's sister, Kimesha Williams, has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of murdering an elderly woman back in 2019.

3. MAGIC ASSISTANT TO RAPTORS?

"Sportsnet analyst Blake Murphy believes Mermuys should be in the running and credits the Magic player development as a reason why.

"He also has ties to the Raptors organization as an assistant under Dwane Casey from 2013-15. Then, he was hired to be the head coach and assistant general manager for the then-D-League affiliate Raptors 905 for the 2015-16 season."

4. MONDAY NIGHT'S GAMES

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat, 7:30 p.m. EST, TNT (Miami Heat leads 2-1)

5. NBA DRAFT LOTTERY COUNTDOWN

The Magic is 22 days away from the NBA Draft Lottery, where it will be revealed if Orlando will have the opportunity to take Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick.
