Magic Starting 5: NBA Mock Draft Links UConn Standout to Orlando

The Magic Insider lists five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant Orlando Magic news and analysis.
Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

In this story:

1. MAGIC MOCK DRAFT NO. 11

"The Magic struggled from long-distance shooting this season, making just 34.6 percent of threes, a mark good enough for 24th in the league. Adding Hawkins to the roster would give Orlando an opportunity to see that number rise."

2. WCJ ON DILLON BROOKS

"I think Dillon Brooks is a great person and a great player," Carter Jr. said via TMZ Sports. "A lot of people like to make their narratives about a lot of players from whatever they may do, which I don't think is fair. But I feel like he's a great player."

3. KNICKS VS. HEAT GAME 4

"The Miami Heat took a 2-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals over the New York Knicks with a 105-86 victory in Game 3. Moving to Game 4, the Knicks will look to tie the series at two games apiece, while the Heat will hope to take a more commanding 3-1 series lead."

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST on TNT.

4. WARRIORS VS. LAKERS GAME 4

"Game 1 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors in this Western Conference Semifinal was a masterclass in all things basketball. Game 2 was a decisive Warriors win and Game 3 was a trouncing by the Lakers. What will Game 4 have in store?"

Tipoff is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. EST on TNT.

5. NBA DRAFT LOTTERY COUNTDOWN

The Magic is eight days away from the NBA Draft Lottery, where it will be revealed if Orlando will have the opportunity to take Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick.
