In this story:

1. R.J. HAMPTON BUYOUT COMING?

"Hampton, 22, is averaging 5.7 points per game while playing primarily in garbage time situations. Should he be bought out, it's hard to see him joining a contender and receiving considerable playing time. He might end up deciding that riding out the rest of the season with the Magic could be in his best interest."

2. BEVERLEY & ROSS GONE... WHO COULD REPLACE?

"With Beverley and Ross hoping to catch on with contenders, the Magic now have two roster spots it can work with."

3. MAGIC SUFFERS TOUGH LOSS VS. HEAT

"In overtime, the Heat raced out to a five-point lead in the first two minutes, but the Magic stuck around and never let the deficit reach any higher. With 10.4 seconds to go, Orlando had a chance to tie, but a Gary Harris corner-three attempt could not get the Magic back to a tie."

4. DEFENSE LOCKING IN

“As a unit, we’re just really locking in the defensive end," Cole Anthony said. "We’ve just made it a point for us to just try and guard the best we can and kind of let our defense spark our offense. When we can get stops, that gives us momentum as a team and it allows us to get out and run. That’s what we really want to do. At the same time also, I think we’ve been really trying to pack that paint in. I think we’re just doing a really good job as a unit. It’s good stuff.”

5. NEXT MAGIC GAME

The Magic will return to the court tonight against the Chicago Bulls at 8:00 p.m. You can watch in-market on Bally Sports Florida or out-of-market on NBA League Pass.
