Shorthanded Magic Scores Season-Low 84 Points in Loss vs. Nets

In this story:
ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic's slide is continuing after a 101-84 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
Playing without starters Paolo Banchero, Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Harris, the Magic came into the games less than its best. Meanwhile, the Nets were at full strength in hopes of clinching the sixth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Magic and Nets were relatively even in the first quarter, but Brooklyn pulled away in the second, outscoring Orlando 31-16 and taking a 19-point lead into halftime. From there, the Nets cruised to victory.
The Magic's 84 points mark a season-low for the team ... the first time Orlando scored under 90 in a game this year.
The Nets were led by Mikal Bridges, who scored a game-high 22 points despite going 1 for 12 from beyond the three-point line. Cam Johnson added 18 points for the Nets.
The loss puts the Magic in a tie for the sixth-worst record in the NBA alongside the Indiana Pacers with a 34-47 record. Both teams sit ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers by one game.
The Magic's season comes to an end Sunday against the Miami Heat. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
